Participants will get an up-close look at freshwater ecosystems through hands-on exploration of organisms collected from local streams. Led in partnership with Friends of the Kaw, this program introduces youth to the fascinating world of aquatic insects and the role they play in indicating water quality and ecosystem health. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe specimens, ask questions, and learn how scientists study living waterways. Activities are designed with upper elementary students in mind, but learners of all ages are welcome to participate and engage with the material.
