Do you know it takes more than 500 years for a plastic bag to degrade? This interactive community program combines creativity and environmental education through hands-on crafts that transform everyday plastic bags into something new and meaningful, including a unique crocheted piece made from hundreds of repurposed bags. Participants will also learn practical ways individuals can reduce plastic waste in daily life while exploring the broader impact of plastic pollution on ecosystems and marine life. Through engaging discussion, visual examples, and take-home ideas, the program invites audiences to rethink single-use plastics and discover simple, impactful ways to support a healthier environment.
