This year marks the 75th anniversary of the 1951 flood and the 60th anniversary of the 1966 Topeka tornado, both of which left lasting scars on Topeka. Director of Shawnee County Emergency services, Dusty Nichols, will discuss the history of severe weather in Shawnee County, as well as how emergency management has changed and adapted to new severe weather challenges.
