Meet with Topeka Family Legal Project staff to apply for legal assistance related to rental housing issues (evictions, issues related to needed maintenance and repairs, security deposit theft), children's education and IEPs, or income supports and security (including SNAP and TANF appeals, child support modifications, debt collections, and wage garnishments).
Our grant allows us to serve families with minor children who reside in Shawnee County, Kansas.
The Topeka Family Legal Project provides free legal assistance for families with minor children who are facing legal challenges related to housing, education and/or public benefits.
Families in need of civil legal assistance who live in Shawnee County and have at least one parent/guardian and one minor child are encouraged to apply for the TFLP. Eligibility requirements are set by our grant funder. See below for more information regarding specific services the project may be able to provide.

The library has a collection of more than 414,000 books and serves more than 81,000 registered borrowers. Bookmobiles make 23 stops Monday-Saturday across Shawnee County. The website tscpl.org serves customers’ needs 24/7. The library offers state-of-the art technology, youth programs that encourage learning and reading, adult learning programs, online learning tools, events, and reference and research tools.
