This panel discussion led by Housing and Credit Counseling Inc. (HCCI) counselors invites a local attorney specializing in debt management and debt collection, and patient support representatives from GraceMed and Stormont-Vail hospital billing clerks to describe how medical debt collection works, how healthcare bills are charged and the quick turn-around timeline when medical providers must submit past due medical debt to a collections agency or attorney. This program is designed for adults and their caregivers who need to know what’s listed in their credit report and steps they can take to mediate past-due medical debt. (2 hours with Q/A)
