Explore the biology and physics of how we see color. Then play with color through the board game Hues and Cues, colored flashlights, and paint mixing.
Explore the biology and physics of how we see color. We’ll discuss how our eyes work and why they struggle to understand optical illusions, why color blindness exists, why we can’t see color in dim light, why shrimp can see more colors than humans, and how we can see colors that don’t exist. Afterwards, we’ll play the board game Hues and Cues and experiment with additive and subtractive color mixing by using flashlights with different colored filters and tempera paints.
