The Washburn International Film Institute Film Festival is a free event designed for the Topeka community.
Jake Jackson is a Kansas based artist whose work as a special makeup effects artist, film producer, writer and director has led him to winning multiple awards in his creative fields. He holds an MEd in instrumental design that has allowed him to go beyond his craft and into the world of teaching others to embrace and pursue their passions.
Some of his recent special makeup effects and producing work can be seen in the feature films “Hell Town,” “Exposure,” “I Am Lisa,” “They Wait in the Dark,” “Alchemy of the Spirit,” and the forthcoming “The Night is Young,” “Bloody Famous” and “They Call Her Death.” Short films include “Crockpot,” “Fountain,” and “The Road Demon.” In addition to his makeup and producing work, he has also written and directed the short films “You’re Invited,” and “Bedtime Story.”
Jake owns and operates MMBN Productions and Monster Maker By Night FX in Topeka, KS. And is currently producing a new feature film entitled, “Happy.”
We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Jake Jackson to this year’s WIFI Workshops and can’t wait for you all to learn from his incredible experience and creativity.
