Food Pantries & Meals

Learn how to help yourself, family, friends & others navigate local resources to help improve their lives, address challenges or create positive change. This month's focus is food pantries & meals.

Come anytime during the event to participate, ask questions, and add your ideas and suggestions to the resources. If you cannot attend but want to participate, email connect@tscpl.org. 

Resources include: 

• Daily Food Resources in Topeka: where can a person get a meal for free, today. 
• Mobile Pickup Food locations through Harvesters and local partners
• Food Pantries throughout our area
• Feed your family on a budget: Creative recipes using food pantry items
• Additional meal programs for specific populations

Many people are amazing helpers, but we can't do it all ourselves. Learn how to connect people to local resources, services and opportunities. Be more prepared with current local information, whether you are having a conversation with a neighbor over the backyard fence, chatting with someone in line at the grocery store, noticing a need on a social media post, or replying to a request from someone who has reached out to you.

Learn how to use community resource guides to get people to the next step on their path. We will also identify gaps in local resources, and share tips and challenges for helping others. We will conclude with self-care for people with helpful hearts as well as reviewing personal safety and boundaries.
