This month we will talk about any Romance/Relationship fiction you've been reading. Whether you loved it or hated it, we want to hear what you think! Chat books with other readers.
In 2025 we are exploring the genres through a year-long club, Journey Through Genres! A genre is a category of books that follow a similar form and/or have similar content.
At the beginning of each month, learn about the genre of the month via our library blog post from an avid reader of the genre. Choose any book from the month's selected genre and read! If you need help picking a book, reach out to us. Your friendly librarians are here to help.
To wrap up each genre of the month, join us in the readers lounge at the library to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly of the genre with fellow readers. In this month’s meeting we will chat about your Romance/Relationship fiction reading from February. As a bonus, we will have library staff on hand to help you select your book for March’s genre of the month!
What is Romance fiction? Romance is a genre where the story is centered around a romantic relationship between characters. Although other things may happen in the story, the central focus is the romantic partnership that drives the story forward and leads to a happy ending.
What is Relationship fiction? Relationship fiction can often be confused for romance fiction, but there are key differences. Though there may be a bit of a love story present in relationship fiction, that is not the driving force. The forward movement in the story is directed by the journey of life and exploration of various relationship types and personal issues.
