Staff from Valeo Behavioral Health Care help community members in need understand their own mental health situations, the treatment options available, and how to access services. Walk in help.
At the information table in the rotunda, you can ask questions about the intake process for receiving services, and receive education about Valeo and their services to the community. We want everyone to be aware of the mental health treatment services and encourage them to use the services when needed or pass on the information to others.
If you are interested in a mental health screening, Valeo staff will meet with you.
Nearly 1 in 5 American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year, but only about half of them receive treatment. The average delay between the onset of mental illness symptoms and treatment is 11 years, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. These screenings will provide an accessible way for community members to receive a short mental health screening and learn about treatment resources in the community. Staff from Valeo Behavioral Health Care want to increase access and reach more people who might be experiencing mental illness but do not know what to do.
Valeo’s Crisis Center is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week at 400 SW Oakley Avenue, Topeka, KS 66606. Anyone who is experiencing a crisis can walk in anytime day or night to meet with a crisis clinician or contact Valeo’s 24-Hour Crisis Line: (785) 234-3300.
