The Manhattan Short Film Festival is back for its 26th season, featuring a brand-new set of short films for 2023. This annual event takes place in over 400 cities across six continents, where film lovers are given the unique opportunity to watch and vote on a selection of exceptional short films. This year's festival will present a selection of 10 short films, each no longer than 18 minutes, representing a wide variety of genres, including drama, comedy, animation, and documentary. The films have been selected from hundreds of entries from around the world, providing audiences with a captivating cinematic experience during a single week.
Every film selected for Manhattan Short 2023 will be automatically qualified for the Oscars of 2024. Additionally, Manhattan Short does a full week's run at a cinema in Hollywood which is advertised in the LA Weekly, providing an excellent platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work to a global audience. This unique festival format unites audiences across the globe through the shared experience of watching great films, while also providing a stage for emerging filmmakers to reach a global audience and be recognized for their exceptional work.
Following each screening, audience members are invited to vote for their favorite film and actor. The votes will be tallied up, and the winners will be announced on Monday, October 9th. Join us in selecting this year's favorite short film.
